Nevsky Prospect Walking Tour

During the tour we will walk along the most beautiful, start part of Nevsky Prospect which is the main city avenue named after St. Alexander Nevsky Monastery (Lavra) where this 4.5 km street finishes. It starts from the Admiralty, the first St. Petersburg shipyard, and goes between the numerous bank buildings, churches, shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, and museums. It is the cultural and commercial arterial road where you can feel the real city atmosphere.

The guide will meet your private party for the excursion in the lobby of your hotel. Then we go by public transport or drive to the downtown. There we start our walk. We will visit the active 19 th century Orthodox Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan which commemorates the Great Patriotic war of 1812. You will get to know about Singer House also known as the House of Books built in festive Art Nouveau style; will see the Church on the Spilled Blood founded on the place of the Emperor Alexander II assassination; Fine Arts Square with the monument to the outstanding poet Alexander Pushkin and the main facade of the Russian Museum. Moreover, close to Nevsky there are the Lutheran church of St. Peter and Paul known as Petrikirche and the Armenian Church of St. Catherine. On the opposite side of Nevsky we will see Merchant’s Yard (Gostiny Dvor) and the monument to the Empress Catherine II. Our walk will finish after the visit to Eliseevs Emporium which is the luxurious shop built in 1904 and after you make a wish by the fountain at the pedestrian Malaya Sadovaya Street and take photos of the statues of cats Elisey and Vasilisa.
